Verteka constructs third student residence project (Update Jan 2010)
4th January 10

Verteka PSF is being used to construct the primary vertical elements for Unites' Holloway Road project in London – Structural Lift and Stair Cores, Shear Walls and Columns 

O'Halloran & O'Brien Ltd are constructing the 6 storey structure which features 4 separate high quality accommodation blocks. The project is led by Woolf Construction Management, The Waterman Group Consultancy and Stride Treglown Architects. Verteka worked along side the project team members for several months which ultimately led to the PSF system being incorporated into the project tender process.

January 2010 UPDATE:

The Verteka core installation is substantially complete – and clearly visible adjacent to the Holloway Road Tube Station.

Verteka PSF allowed rapid completion of all four structures, in particular the two blocks adjacent to the rail lines - facilitating the current installation of surrounding POD units (ref blue pod units in photo below)

Construction of the core / slab structures took place in the relatively short period of circa 2 months following completion of respective surrounding ground works.

Verteka's involvement with the Holloway Road project also follows two recent successful completions on similar Unite Projects; Bartholomew Road and Great Suffolk Street.  The installation speed of Verteka PSF core and wall components compliment the off-site Pod nature of construction - which feature heavily in student accommodation type projects.

In addition to Verteka's contribution to fast construction programmes, the Near-Ready-To-Decorate finish provided by PSF is deemed to provide additional value to the project.
